BREATHWORK & MEDITATION
In today's fast-paced and information-filled world, stress levels are higher than ever. However, this also means that we now have greater awareness and the ability to take control of our nervous system state. Our breath emerges as a powerful tool to manage our physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Breathwork, the practice of controlling the breath, involves a set of exercises designed to maintain the body and mind in optimal health. Breath is synonymous with life itself; we can survive without food or water for days, but without breath, our life ceases within minutes. Despite this crucial role, we often overlook the significance of breathing correctly.
Meditation, an essential practice for self-discovery, proves beneficial not only for profound understanding but also for navigating the challenges of everyday life. This class is tailored for beginners and those struggling to establish a connection with meditation. I will provide key insights to help initiate or enhance your meditation experience.
This Breathwork & Meditation class welcomes everyone, regardless of religious or spiritual beliefs. Meditation is a universal aspect of human experience. Whether you can sit cross-legged or prefer a chair, all are welcome.
Classes are online via Zoom on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 0700 - 0800. Once you book, you will receive the Zoom link 24 hours before the class via email. Check the schedule below.
WHY YOGA?
Yoga is a 5000 year old ancient practice of using the breath to move the body and calm the mind, it has definitely become increasingly popular in today's busy society.
Yoga helps us to feel better about ourselves. There are many amazing benefits of yogaโit makes us stronger, calmer, happier, healthier, and more flexible. Yoga also gives us a chance to connect with our body, our mind, and spirit in ways that no other physical activity does. A regular yoga practice allows us to explore parts of ourselves that we might otherwise ignore, It provides us a safe space where we can try new things, fail, and try again. It teaches us patience, perseverance, balance and humility. For many, the primary reason for maintaining a regular yoga practice is in developing their spirituality.
My Spiritual name โIshvaraโ
At the moment of our birth, we are bestowed with a name, usually chosen by our parents, which becomes our "civil name." This name serves as our identifier in official documents and among our peers, accompanying us throughout our entire life.
In the realm of Yoga, a spiritual name, typically in Sanskrit, is granted to the student upon completion of their teacher training. For all practitioners of Yoga, this spiritual name serves as a means of invoking our true essence, connecting with the Soul for a deeper identification. Much like our civil name ties us to our physical body, the spiritual name links us to our spiritual self.
This spiritual name plays a significant role in meditation and prayer, serving as a constant reminder that we are individuals on a spiritual journey, reinforcing and expediting our path towards our highest destiny. It holds a potent vibratory blessing, emphasising the importance of using our spiritual names with utmost reverence and respect.
